There is no single Croatian list that applies identically to every yacht. The operator, yacht and booking contract determine what is mandatory, included or optional. The safest approach is to classify every amount into four groups. A. Obligatory and non-refundable Charter package or transit log This is usually charged once per booking. It may cover cleaning, administration, linen, towels, gas, dinghy, Wi-Fi and starter supplies. The name does not prove what is included: read the itemised description. Tourist tax Tourist tax is compulsory and is generally calculated per guest and per night. Confirm whether it is prepaid or collected at the base and whether cash or card is accepted. Harbour or marine service charge Some fleets add a separate crew or harbour service fee. Others include these services in the charter package. Local charges and payment methods differ by base and operator. B. Obligatory only when applicable Professional skipper A skipper becomes obligatory when the charterer cannot provide qualifications accepted for that yacht. The skipper fee normally excludes food, and cabin allocation matters too. Hostess, cook or additional crew Fees, food and cabins are separate considerations and should be confirmed in writing. Pet cleaning, safety net and one-way fee These apply only to the relevant booking. A one-way charter can also require an earlier return time, repositioning and extra transfer planning. C. Refundable or partly refundable Security deposit The deposit is usually a temporary card authorisation or cash deposit. Ask how large it is, which cards are accepted, whether it is charged or blocked, how long release can take and what remains payable. Reduced deposit plus insurance Deposit insurance often combines a non-refundable premium with a smaller refundable amount. \u201cDeposit waiver\u201d should not be interpreted as unlimited protection. D. Consumption and choice-based expenses Fuel and overnight berths Fuel is charged according to use. A week using popular full-service marinas will cost more than a route mixing permitted anchorages, buoy fields and town quays. Anchoring and buoy nights make the route more varied and can control costs. Optional equipment and services SUP, kayak or safety net; extra linen and beach towels; early boarding or provisioning; airport transfer and parking; Wi-Fi upgrades or outboard engine; extra cleaning or extra nights on board. A practical pre-booking checklist Total yacht rental after discount Every obligatory extra Prepaid versus locally payable amounts Accepted payment methods Tourist-tax calculation Deposit and insurance alternative Skipper fees, food and cabin Fuel policy and check-in times Cancellation and amendment terms Why identical yachts can have different totals Two yachts of the same model and year can be managed by different companies. One package may include an outboard engine, Wi-Fi and towels, while another charges them separately. The cheapest headline rate can therefore produce the more expensive final booking.
